Congratulations, REU Students!
The AEL, in partnership with the Ohio Division of Wildlife (ODOW) embarked on an Aquatic Ecology & Fisheries Management Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program this summer. In this program, we sought students who may not have traditionally considered aquatic ecology as a field of study. The students selected for this REU participated in a variety of professional development and skill building sessions throughout the summer. They also worked with their advisors to create and execute a research plan that answered a specific question about an aquatic ecosystem or fishery in Ohio. The students presented the results of their research on Friday, July 28. See below for a list of students, their advisors, and their research projects.
We could not be more proud of these incredible students! And we are excited about all that we have learned so that we may continue this program into the future!
