Marley, Olivia, and Jay by the Hebron State Fish Hatchery Sign

Last week, the students participating in the Aquatic Ecology and Fisheries Management Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) visited the Ohio Division of Wildlife's Inland Fisheries Research Unit (IFRE) at the Hebron State Fish Hatchery for a tour and a demonstration on otolith extraction and aging.

Olivia Houpt is working with Kylee Wilson on a project looking at recreational fishing success on Lake Erie.

Marley McLaughlin is working with Hannah Moore on a project comparing survey responses from state reservoir managers and empirical data on the reservoirs.

Jay Kelly is working with Taylor Hunkins, a biologist at IFRE, on a reservoir fisheries project.
