The newest addition to the AEL’s research vessel fleet, Carmen, arrived in Ohio this spring. This 31’ boat will be used primarily for Lake Erie sampling, including fish acoustics, midwater and bottom trawling, gillnetting, and benthic coring. With twin berths, state-of-the-art instrumentation, and plenty of computer workspace, this boat will open up the door for multi-day research cruises.
