At the recent national conference of the American Fisheries Society, Cassie May was awarded honorable mention for the J. Francis Allen Scholarship.  This scholarship is awarded annually to a female doctoral candidate whose emphasis is in the field of fisheries science. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage women to become fisheries professionals.
