Former AEL graduate student Kuan-Yu (Alex) Chen has published his research in the British Ecological Society's Methods in Ecology and Evolution. His paper entitled assignPOP: An R Package for population assignment using genetic, non-genetic-or integrated data in a mahine-learning framework aims to help both conservation and fishery managment by showing the abilities of assignPOP to track both genetic and non-genetic markers in a population.
