Annual Lake Erie/Inland Waters Research Review Meeting

More than 130 professors, students, scientists, biologists, and managers convened for the 6th Annual Lake Erie/Inland Waters Annual Research Review hosted by The Ohio State University’s Aquatic Ecology Laboratory at Tech Columbus on 25-26 January 2007. Researchers from across Ohio presented the results of collaborative research between the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife, and academic researchers at OSU and Miami University.

Talks dealt with ecological mechanisms underlying the survival of early life stages of popular sport fishes, changes in the Lake Erie ecosystem, improved methods for fisheries research and management, and watershed effects on reservoir ecosystems. The quality of the research presentations, the collaborative nature of the ongoing work, and the convivial atmosphere all reflect the success of the research partnership between OSU and Ohio DNR which was designed to pursue outstanding fish management and research problems within the states.
