6th graders visit the AEL
6th graders from the Indianola Alternative Elementary School visited the AEL in October to learn about ecological food webs. The students collected aquatic organisms in a nearby pond using a variety of sampling techniques and then constructed a food web for the pond’s ecosystem based on what they found. The visit was highlighted by a presentation on some fascinating aspects of mollusk ecology by Kody Kuehnl.
